We’ve all participated in a photobooth (or twenty) at various events and parties. I don’t know about you, but I know there’s a stack of creased photobooth strips on my computer desk as I type this. The photos show me in various silly hats or glasses, in front of a backdrop with someone else’s last name. If I’m being honest, I keep them because I feel bad throwing away any type of photo, but not because they’re particularly special to me. Having been a photographer in the wedding industry for over a decade, I have been itching to see something new in this guest experience space. And I think aura photography is the wedding must-have the industry has been waiting for!
There are so many reasons that aura photography is the perfect addition to your wedding day. If you’re not into the run of the mill cheesy prop kind of photobooth, if you’ve been searching for a way to make the guest experience at your event memorable, or you’re already a fan of aura photography but want a way to bring it to your event in a way that fits with the elevated environment…you’re in the right place! Below I’m going to share 4 reasons why aura photography is a must-have at your next event!
Are you over the typical photobooth? If you’re like me, the same cheesy props and flimsy strips of photos that get crumbled in the bottom of your purse at every event aren’t what you’re looking for. Don’t get me wrong, photobooths can be fun, but I’ve seen them a million times. It’s really rare when a photobooth feels appropriately elevated for a high end event. If you love the idea of capturing additional photos of your guests and sending them home with a memento too, but the photobooth is it…aura photography may be the answer!
When planning my own wedding, I spent a lot of time talking with my now-husband about ways we could incorporate things we love into our day. We wanted to give our guests a taste of something special to us, especially if that meant we could introduce them to something fun and unique. One personalized element at our wedding was a home-made cold brew coffee before the ceremony. We’re big believers in that your wedding day should feel like you. That’s the best mindset to help shape an awesome guest experience. If you’re into auras and energy, photography, polaroid film, or memorable experiences in general, consider adding aura photography to your cocktail hour/reception. Give your guests something new to try, a unique experience that they won’t be able to stop talking about!
And speaking of talking, aura photos provide a great conversation starter for your guests to chat about while mingling. Seeing how visually similar or unique their auras are might help break the ice during dinner. We’ve had our aura photos taken many times, and it’s always so fun and interesting to look at other people’s photos, compare notes, and see the beauty of their energy!
Taking home one-of-a-kind portrait on instant film is really special. You won’t find these crumpled under the tables or forgotten on someone’s chair. An aura portrait is so special and your guests will be thrilled to take home such a personalized favor. Guests can take solo portraits, portraits with their spouses, or even their parent/child. It’s so cool to see a visual representation of their beautiful energy, especially on such an exciting and energetic day like a wedding!
