Aura Photography for Weddings & Other Unique Guest Experiences

The wedding industry is ever-evolving, with trends constantly coming and going. But there are some “trends” that have staying power, and for good reason. One of the biggest trends I anticipate to continue growing in the 2025 wedding season and beyond, is incorporating unique guest experiences. And that’s where aura photography for weddings comes into play. Along with some other awesome things we’ve seen guests have an amazing time with at weddings!

Unique Guest Experiences for Your Wedding

If you’re looking for some inspiration on ways you can enhance the experience for your guests at your wedding, I’ve got you covered! Some of the best unique guest experiences to consider for your wedding, help to show your guests a fun time, allow them to experience something new, or allow them to take something special home with them.

We have been wedding photographers for over a decade. So we have seen so many great ideas at the weddings we’ve been a part of. Below features some images from those weddings we shot under Jennifer Larsen Photography!

1. Aura Photography for Weddings

Aura Photography for weddings is such an amazing way to add to the guest experience at your event. Is the typical photobooth just not doing it for you? Whether that’s because you’re not into cheesy props, or you simply want your guests to take home something a little more special, I would highly recommend considering an elevated alternative like the Aura Photography booth we offer at I Do Auras.

What is aura photography? Aura photography uses a specialized camera to take a double exposure portrait of the subject and a colorful translation of the energy field around them. The camera comes with hand sensors that pick up on bio feedback elements. Think body temperature, moisture, etc. to create a visual representation of your auric field. This results in a beautiful rendering of various colors overlaid on top of your portrait.

At an event as “high energy” and joyful as a wedding day, it is so incredibly special to have a visual representation of the incredible feeling of having all your loved ones in one place to celebrate you. And as bonus, these aura photos double as favors. Guests get to take home a frame-worthy portrait on instant film of themselves & their aura.

2. Food Trucks

Food trucks are a tried and true way to enhance the experience of your guests at your wedding! Whether it’s late night breakfast sandwiches for the ride home, or a pizza truck during cocktail hour, there are endless options to enhance the culinary spread at your event!

My best recommendation is to consider what will compliment the food you already plan to serve at the reception/cocktail hour. Think about what will fill in any gaps. If you kept it light for the cocktail hour provisions, adding an extra station for your guests to visit could be a great idea! Or if you opted to keep dessert light at the end of the night, having a late night to-go snack may be the move!

3. Temporary Tattoo Bar

A temporary tattoo bar was a highlight at Angela & Bobby’s wedding reception! Their guests had a ball decorating their bodies with festive tattoos for the celebration! This can be a simple addition, or can be elevated and personalized by creating some custom tattoos to add to the mix! Angela & Bobby created some customized tattoos (featuring their Bassett Hound, Barry) along with other fun text and graphics!

4. Dessert Carts

Do you have a favorite dessert that’s not included on your venue’s after-dinner menu? There are lots of options for ways to share your favorites sweets with your guests! A gelato cart with Nutella “shots”? Count me in!! We’ve seen cannoli filled on the dance floor, ice cream sandwich trucks, and apple cider donut walls to go! There are endless opportunities to sweeten your wedding reception with desserts!

5. Lawn Games

A tried and true classic, adding some fun lawn games and activities to your cocktail hour and reception are always and awesome enhancement to your guest’s experience! Some activities to enjoy complimentary to food & drinks can never hurt. Especially if you have little ones in attendance! Games like cornhole, connect four, giant jenga, and more are always a hit with guests and promote connections between various groups of people!
